Soft
This lens can correct near and far sighted patients. It can also correct for mild to moderate astigmatism, as well as presbyopia (bifocal). These lenses are designed to be replaced on a monthly, two week or daily schedule depending on FDA approval. The comfort, convenience and cleanliness of 1 day lenses has made this a great option for many patients.
Rigid Gas Permeable (RGP)
This lens can correct near and far sighted patients. It can also correct for mild to severe astigmatism, as well as presbyopia (bifocal). This is a good option for patients who have a significant amount of astigmatism and also need a bifocal. An RGP lens is a custom lens and is meant to be replaced every 1-2 years.
Hybrid (RGP center with soft edge)
This lens can correct near and far sighted patients. It can also correct for mild to severe astigmatism, as well as presbyopia (bifocal). This is a more recent advancement in the contact lens industry that allows patients to have the sharp vision of a rigid lens with the comfort of a soft contact lens. This is one of the best options for patients who have a significant amount of astigmatism and also need a bifocal. In addition, it can be used for patients with Keratoconus and other corneal degenerations. A hybrid lens is replaced every 4-6 months.
Scleral
This lens is primarly used for patients whose vision cannot be corrected with conventional contact lenses or glasses. Specifically, patients with Keratoconus, Pellucid Marginal Degenoration, and post sugrical corneas (corneal transplant, RK). This lens can also be used for severe dry eye patients secondary to Rheumatoid Arthritis, Sjogrens Syndrome, and Stevens-Johnson Syndrome.
Corneal Reshaping (CRT)
This lens is a specially designed RGP lens used to correct near-sightedness while you are sleeping. The lens is removed in the morning, which allows you to see clearly during the day without the aid of glasses or contacts. We have successfully fit many adults as well as children in this lens. It is a great alternative to LASIK surgery.
Therapeutic
This lens is an FDA approved device that promotes healing and reduces inflammation of the cornea. It is used to treat ocular surface disease such as chemical burns, corneal scars, dry eye, recurrent corneal erosion and corneal abrasions.
